NeatTools Open Source Project

This Wiki is for discussion of activities related to the NeatTools Open Source Project.

NeatTools is an old (from the 90s!) but very cool visual programming environment for processing streams of data from many sources — it probably handles the largest variety of input devices of any software — and can control quite a few hardware devices (including PC mouse and keyboard).

Building NeatTools Executable from Source

Here are the things I'd like to add to the NeatTools Open Source Project

  • Online Module Repository — a place to keep all NeatTools extensions and their source.
  • External Module Generator — fill out a form online, get back source for module. Form contents can be saved online for later re-generation of modules (just a matter of saving form data, and accessing it later)
  • NeatTools Radio Station — online storage of NeatTools data streams for later replay
  • Neatviz on OS X — take advantage of OS X animation API, allowing visualization on Mac and iPhone
